Call for Papers 2022 Taiwan Economic Association (TEA)

Call for Papers

2022 Taiwan Economic Association (TEA)

Taipei, Taiwan

on December 3, 2022

Dear Colleagues,

The 2022 Taiwan Economic Association Annual Conference (TEAAC) will be held at National Chengchi University, Taipei City, Taiwan, on December 3, 2022. TEAAC welcomes submissions from all fields, including theoretical, empirical, or applied economic research papers. Proposals for special sessions will be given higher consideration. This year’s conference will include a COVID-19 special session, and as such, we invite domestic and foreign economists researching this topic to participate and share their studies. Both English and Chinese versions are acceptable, and no submission fee is required. Furthermore, we encourage the submission of posters dealing with conference topics.

Scholars interested in participating in this conference, either presenting a paper or organizing a session, should submit an abstract (preferably a full paper) or plan via the online submission system (https://conference.iis.sinica.edu.tw/surl/tea22/sub). At least one of the authors should be a TEA member and only one presentation of paper for each presenter.

The submission process for presentation:

l   Please specify the presentation session (Chinese/English/Young scholars’ session) when submitting a paper. In order to encourage English language presentations, the presentation fee will be waived for English language sessions.

l   Young scholars are highly encouraged to attend. No presentation fee is required if the presenter is a Ph.D. candidate or a postdoctoral researcher, and the review will be less exact. The registration fee for joining TEA is discounted by  half for student members. If possible, the advisor of a Ph.D. candidate presenter should be present.

l   Every self-organized issue session should be organized with four papers. Both English sessions and Chinese sessions are acceptable. We welcome recommendations of a session’s reviewers to TEA. The proposal for a self-organized issue session should be submitted before September 10, 2022, and the applicant will be notified before September 30, 2022. Full paper (in PDF format) submissions should be received before November 15, 2022.

l   Non-member foreign scholars are welcome to participate in self-organized issue sessions of the conference. TEA offers allowances that comply with the following regulations.

n   Every session should be organized with four papers, with at least one foreign scholar as a presenter.

n   Please submit applications with a proposal of the session in English, and TEA will reimburse the invited foreign scholars, including expenses and airfare. The allowance will be no more than NT$20,000 (roughly U$675).

n   The proposal for English self-organized issue sessions should be submitted before September 10, 2022 with at most three domestic complete articles or abstracts and the invitees’ CVs. It is possible to recommend reviewers to a session, and the acceptance of the allowance will be sent before September 30, 2022.

n   Full paper submissions for English self-organized issue sessions are due by November 15, 2022.

l   For poster sessions, the submissions should be completed by October 10, 2022. Send the poster in PDF format to cyshen@gate.sinica.edu.tw. Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by October 31, 2022. The poster should be in size A1, including information on the topic, author(s), advisor(s), affiliation, motivation, data source, methodology, main findings, and conclusions and implications (the first four items are required). Please bring a hard copy of the poster to the conference, and the committee will select outstanding research papers and posters for the year.

Inquiries can be sent to the conference secretary, accessible at cyshen@gate.sinica.edu.tw. Details of the conference are available on the TEAAC website (http://www.teaweb.org.tw/En/index.asp).

Important Dates

l   Abstract submissions by September 10, 2022

Note:  The abstract should include the title, name(s) of the author(s), affiliations, contact information for presenting author, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail.

Notice

l   Once the presentation is accepted, please pay the presentation fee of NT$1,000 by credit card online or wire transfer by the domestic post office before November 15, 2022. The presenter will be disqualified if payment is overdue.
